Church PlantingWithin the Linknz network of churches we have a commitment to plant great churches in NZ and then into the nations. From major cities and then in to the surrounding regions we have a goal to plant and establish these communities. A goal to see twenty new churches planted throughout NZ in the next ten years is our initial vision. Hope you can join us! Why plant churches?
No missiological principle is more important than saturation church planting. Because the church is God's dream and the hope of the world we are committed to keeping the vision and dream of God at the forefront of our journey together in Linknz as a network of churches. What is a church plant?A community of committed believers living to see the lost won to Christ, discipled and brought into authentic Christian community.
How can I get involved?DO: You can start doing it. Through introducing people to Jesus and introducing them to other believers. PRAY: Pray for one of our new church plants. Contact us below on our email and we will give you updates of what is happening. ASK: Ask God how you can get involved. Ask your leaders how you can start a process that could support or lead to a new church plant. EXPLORE: Consider a move to join one of our new church plants. Speak to leaders about further training processes to help in this.
START: Talk to your leaders and the linknz network team about planting a cell, outreach or community initiative in your region. SUPPORT: Find out ways to support those planting churches.Encourage, pray, give financially. A yearly church planting offering will be taken on the first Sunday of March throughout the Linknz churches so that new churches can be given initial financial support where needed. A church plant that is part of the Linknz network will receive apostolic input, encouragement and oversight to help establish and grow these churches. Where should we plant more churches?Planting churches is the result of God putting a vision into the hearts of people to effectively evangelise and win people to Christ. That in turn requires effective and relevant churches that can disciple and create a context where Christian community is lived out. Therefore churches can be planted in many places and contexts that are not planned for but experience shows that unless a clear goal, vision and plan is set in place this will not effectively happen.
Because our society is increasingly fragmented into micro-communities, based on age, race, ethnic minorities, economic divides, etc, we need to find new ways to reach these diverse yet growing communities. It is possible that within one city/town we have a base church that helps to nurture many varied and exciting forms of church plants. |
When do we start?Officially churches within the Linknz network will take up their first church planting offering on the first Sunday of May 2008 each year where we nationally take up the vision and challenge to become a network of churches that are committed to planting churches.Church PLanting: the vision! To give to this vision the Linknz church planting account number is: National Bank For further information contact us: E: linknz@maxnet.co.nzP: 06 3578925 F: 06 3570013 CHURCH PLANTING ARTICLES1.
