CINDY AND LINDA’S PILGRIMAGE
Cindy Ruakere and Linda Burson are about to embark on the adventure of a lifetime. To keep up with their travels from Jan 31st go to cindyruakere.com for regular updates. I leave you with this clever ditty:

Oh Lent, where art thou..
I long to engage myself with your appealing abstinences,
And return to good health and girth…
The Camino is calling
Ah, Santiago!
You will remind me of the good fortune that discipline offers….

Bridges Building Project
Hi EveryoneWe at Bridges Church in Cambridge are so excited to be starting the second stage (there are 3 stages) of our building project – A Church and Community Centre in Cambridge!  A much needed and desired asset in our town.
Every step we make is a step of faith and a challenge for sure.  We still have somewhat of a shortfall (financially) to complete this next stage… One way you could help is by having a look at our website and purchasing any of the good quality products available for sale.  All the proceeds go directly to the Building Fund… Please check out the attached flyer.

Happy shopping! (especially in time for Christmas)  www.apieceofnz.co.nz

‘Signs of Life‘ Prophetic and Worship Festival at Edge Kingsland Sept 1-3rd.  This rocked the party!!!

‘After the success of last years Beyond Borders Conference, it was suggested that we host a festival focusing on all things worship and prophetic. These two things are a big part of what shapes us at Edge Kingsland.

We want to use the sound and the spirit of who we are to encourage others on their journey. We continue to explore how we define worship and the prophetic and we’d love to invite you to join in the exploration.

Signs of Life will be a chance for us to get together, to sing, to tell stories and to imagine what a creative representation of our faith could become’.

EDGE KINGSLAND’S LATEST EP:

‘It is our very great pleasure to introduce to you our first live E.P, Signs of Life

We recorded Signs of Life with some very dear friends at the Beyond Borders gathering in July of this year.

It’s a mix of Vol. 1 songs, some beautiful, prophetic spontaneous moments, and some new stuff. Plenty of post-Pentecostal whoops and hollers too. We were inspired to name it “Signs of Life” after a line from ‘Alive’, one of the songs on the E.P.

Hopefully, this music is a sign of life to you. God in His great glory is still alive, still full of mischief, still ready to throw you off the map.’

Signs of Life is available for FREE download at www.edgekingsland.co.nz

MOZAMBIQUE NEWS

Well – Wow!!  What an amazing time we had in Mozambique, Africa!!

A team of 11 from Bridges Church was privileged to have the opportunity to spend 3 weeks at the Iris Ministries base in Pemba, Northern Mozambique…

If you haven’t heard of Heidi & Roland Baker and their ministry both in Mozambique and in countries all across the globe, then be sure to visit their website (www.irismin.org) and have a look.

You cannot spend time in such a place and be unaffected or unchanged!  Seeing people hungry for God, saved, delivered and healed…  These things happened both on outreaches organised by Iris, as well as individuals just reaching out to those around them.  One of the highlights was a ‘bush outreach’ …a two hour drive with 25 or so people shoved on the back of a ute and off we go… haaa, and a scorpion joined us on the way back – a good thing most of us were oblivious to this fact!  On this outreach we experienced several healings with probably a lot more that we just don’t know the outcomes of…  …Murray prayed for a deaf guy who got his hearing back and there was a limp little baby with a high fever who after receiving prayer was just fine the next morning.  People just came from other surrounding villages and many gave their hearts to the Lord for the first time.

While on a walk in the nearby village, asking God to lead us, a woman approached us telling us she was sick (could make out at least some words and phrases in Portuguese) so we prayed for her and asked her if she knew Jesus…  the short of it was that she ended up giving her life to Jesus and clapping and dancing with joy!!  There are many more testimonies of things that God did!

We had involvement with the village-feeding program (where 1,400 village children are fed both the word of God and food each weekday), feeding the widows, medical and plunket clinics, visiting the prison and just loving and playing with the kids in the orphanage…

So many guys are becoming Christians in the prison that they now run a bible school in there!!  It was a very touching experience to share with these guys and pray for them.  Many of these guys will end up pastoring churches when they get out of prison – as is the testimony of quite a few of the pastors there…

Four kids (ages 4-10) were part of our team and loved every minute of the experience there… kids are incredibly adaptable and language just doesn’t seem to be a barrier for making friends!  They totally loved the dancing in church every Sunday!  An hour’s ‘high intensity African aerobics’ with another hour of worship to follow… then leading into a sermon translated 3 ways and ministry time.  It really was wonderful to be a part of that.  What a passionate people!!

We are wrecked forever for Him and trust that there will be an outflow of what we experienced in Mozambique right here in NZ….

UNITED FLAVOURS- Youth Sugaring it up

United Flavours went off!  Great unity and lots of relationships built.  It was great to have representation from CCC on Pascal Palmerston North, Freedom Porirua, River Life Otaki, Tribe Masterton, Bush Com Pahiatua, The Hub Fielding, Dannevirke Christian Com, City Life New Plymouth, Link City Hamilton, Arise Wellington, Life Church Palmerston North, Edge Kingsland, Ben Work from Faith City Church Auckland & the Highbury community join us for the event.
It was a great day of sports, food, music and community.  This continued on in to the evening with an amazing time of worship, celebration and encouraging our young people to ‘sugar it up’.

The momentum continued on to Sunday morning where Aaron spoke about generations and encouraged the ‘older’ to pray for the ‘younger’ ones because the younger can’t do it with out the support of them.  He spoke really well and stirred up the church. He spoke with real passion and confidence.  You and Dale would have been very proud of him.  The Hamilton kids and our kids continued with their friendships they had built during Get Smart – it was such an amazing family feel.  Check out the ‘Wired’ page on facebook for photos.

Blessings Jeremy :)

Nigel Dixon’s new book “Villages Without Walls”  was released June 28th!

” It has been about 7 years in the writing and it is great to finally hold it in my hand and see the great finish created by design guru Rees Morley.” NIGEL DIXON

What others say of his book:
” Living in the changing climate of the post modern world demands that we exegete the culture well in order to be a relevant expression of the people of God.Nigel challenges us to consider our condition, and he calls us to return to ‘village life’; an intimate and authentic community of faith. He reiterates that to believe and belong are still the twin realities of faith with communal purpose. This book is a timely reminder of the dream of God for our lives; a wake up call to be all that we are called to be.”  GREG BURSON

” This exceptional book comes from the life of a gifted leader and teacher who passionately believes that biblical communities can look and act radically different from what we have known. Building authentic Christian community in a broken and challenging culture will inspire all readers to reset their vision and settle for nothing less.”   FRASER HARDY

Contact Nigel at nigelvoxhumana@gmail.com to get your hands on a copy of this fabulous book.
